From Tragedy to Innovation
The History of VIBRAM
VIBRAM was founded in 1937 by Vitale Bramani. Mr. Bramani, a renowned mountain climber, tragically lost six of his friends on a climbing expedition when a snow storm suddenly hit the group while they were on the mountain.
Blaming his friends deaths on the poor-quality boots they were wearing, Mr. Bramani was determined to design better soles. Several years later, he opened Vibram's first factory in Albizzate, Italy.
